LION GISELA WEITZ RECEIVES MELVIN JONES FELLOWSHIP

Table View Lions Club’s Ms Gisela Weitz was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship at the club’s Presidential Inauguration meeting on 23 June 2013.

Lion Gisela Weitz, a past president and an avid Lion facilitating and supporting numerous community service and uplifting projects. These include building and setting up Ekhaya Kidz Educare Center in Dunoon (learning centre for +- 60 underprivileged children), facilitating the Hearing Aids Project to provide needy deaf children in South Africa with new and second-hand/reconditioned hearing aids, etc.

Lions International recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing upon them an award that is named for its founder, Melvin Jones. The Melvin Jones Fellowship Award (LCIF) is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. The recipient of this award is chosen because of exemplary service to the club and the community for which it serves
